5-DAY ITINERARY
IN LOMBOK
5-Day Itinerary
5 Days | The Balance of Lombok
You want to discover Lombok without having to choose between nature, culture, beaches and islands? In five days, the journey finds its rhythm: northern waterfalls, rural roads, Tetebatu rice fields, southern beaches and the turquoise lagoons of the Gili Islands.
Choose this journey →This itinerary is a travel base. It can be adjusted according to your dates, your pace, your arrival point, the accommodation level you want and on-the-ground conditions.
Who is it for?
Travelers who want to go beyond a short stay: waterfalls, villages, rice fields, beaches, local culture and the Gili Islands in a complete yet fluid format.
Day 1
The force of the elements
North · Senaru · Sendang Gile · Tiu Kelep
We begin where Lombok breathes differently. In Senaru, at the foot of Rinjani, the air becomes cooler, more humid and more tropical. The road rises, the landscapes open up, and the journey enters its first real depth.
Your local driver-guide meets you at your hotel. You leave the coast and head north, through villages, valleys and the first slopes of Rinjani.
Arrival in the Senaru area. You walk beneath the canopy toward Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep, depending on the group’s pace and the day’s conditions. Here, water is not only something you see: you feel it in the sound, the mist and the freshness.
Lunch or a simple break in a local atmosphere, with Rinjani’s slopes and the northern valleys as a backdrop.
Depending on timing, possible stop in a traditional village, a plantation area, around vanilla, or along the mountain roads.
Return to your accommodation or check-in, depending on the organization planned for the rest of the journey.
Day 2
Water in all its forms
Central waterfalls & local crafts
The Lombok of springs, hands and rural roads. This day takes you into the center of the island: more hidden waterfalls, dense vegetation, artisan villages and everyday local life.
Departure toward Benang Stokel and Benang Kelambu waterfalls. The road crosses a more rural, quieter Lombok, less visible from classic tourist routes.
Discover the waterfalls according to your pace, the weather and the time available. Benang Kelambu is one of Lombok’s most distinctive waterfalls, with water that seems to slide through the vegetation.
A simple break, then back on the road through countryside landscapes. Depending on timing, possible stop at a market, near rice fields or at a viewpoint.
Pottery, weaving or another local craft, depending on the chosen route. The idea is not to tick off a visit, but to see how the island is still passed down through gestures.
A calm end to the day, with a deeper view of Lombok: water, villages, crafts and inland roads.
Day 3
Absolute green
Tetebatu · rice fields · plantations · rural Lombok
Tetebatu slows everything down. The green becomes denser, the roads narrower, the scenes simpler. Here, Lombok tells its story through rice fields, plantations and village paths.
Departure toward one of Lombok’s most authentic areas, between hills, plantations and agricultural landscapes.
Walk or gentle discovery around the rice fields, according to your pace. You observe crops, irrigation systems, rural paths and local life.
Break and possible discovery around coconut oil, vanilla, plantations or other local products depending on availability.
Depending on conditions, possible visit to Sarang Walet or another nature stop. The program remains flexible to keep the day calm, green and breathable.
Return to your accommodation or transfer to the area planned for the next part of the journey.
“A visual shock! The view over the rice fields is simply magnetic, you feel alone in the world facing Lombok’s endless green. It was the purest and most authentic moment of my stay.”
— Martin Durand, Local Guide · Google Review — Tetebatu
Day 4
Sasak land & the sunny South
Local culture · beaches · scenic roads
You head down toward the light. The landscapes become more open, the hills drier, the beaches wider. Southern Lombok offers a strong contrast with the waterfalls and rice fields of the previous days.
Possible stop at a Sasak village, a weaving workshop or a craft site. You take time to understand the houses, gestures, traditions and local history.
Toward Kuta Lombok, Mawun, Selong Belanak, Tanjung Aan or other stops depending on conditions and timing. Light sand, hills, open bays: the scenery changes completely.
Swimming, viewpoint, photo stop, coffee break or surf introduction depending on your level and conditions. The day keeps a clear base, while remaining adjustable.
One last look at the horizon before returning to your accommodation, depending on the day’s organization.
Day 5
The turquoise pause
Gili Islands & snorkeling
Set out to sea. After four days of roads, waterfalls, villages and beaches, the final day opens onto the clear waters of the Gili Islands.
Your transfer is organized toward the boat departure area according to your accommodation. The local team coordinates timing to avoid poor combinations of roads, ports and schedules.
Mask, snorkel, boat, clear sea. You explore the planned spots according to weather, current, visibility and the day’s crowd levels. Possible turtles, coral and tropical fish: the day is built around the sea.
Lunch break or free time depending on the planned organization. You slow down, walk, swim or simply enjoy the Gili atmosphere.
Navigation between the islands, final snorkeling spots or a quieter moment on the sand depending on your energy and sea conditions.
Return by boat, then transfer to your hotel. If you are leaving afterward, the organization can be adapted to your timing.
The Macadamia Experience
A local driver-guide, an air-conditioned vehicle and an organization built around your pace.
Roads, schedules, boat, weather, travel times: the local team adjusts the program to keep each day realistic.
The details of included costs are clarified before confirmation: transport, boat, entrance fees, parking or local fees depending on the selected offer.
